For the 6th time, Melodi ni Solarie takes place in Austrin under the slogan Life's a Rollercoaster.

In this edition, the same format from MS 45 was kept (it was skipped in the 46th edition) with two juries voting in the semifinal and three voting in the final, with the qualifying songs being picked by the juries rather than by joint ranking.

Also it is the 4th time a final has 16 songs. The first four times happened during MS 33, MS 40 and MS 45.

In the end, Fortalet won its first title after 4 runner ups with the song Vidaloca by Tuyo. Nordatlantik matched its best result and ends in the 2nd place for the second time. This is the first time since MS 25 when the top 2 were formed by provinces that hadn't won any title yet - interesting enough, Fortalet ended up in the runner up position in said edition.

Tuyo's victory marks the 3rd title for Brazil and also the 3rd time that a song in Portuguese language is crowned the winner. This is the first time that a province other than Talar has a brazilian winner in Portuguese language.

Nordatlantik won the jury title for its 3rd time with Isaac Gracie and the song Silhouettes of You. It is the 3rd jury title for the province in 8 editions.
